As a Think Energy customer in Illinois, you're invited to join Energywell's Connected Energy Community.
We'll install a home battery backup at no cost, connect you to a rate that beats ComEd's Price to Compare from day one, and manage everything behind the scenes so your home uses power more intelligently. Your Think Energy supply agreement stays active until your battery is installed and your Energywell rate kicks in. No gap. No disruption. A seamless transition.

Lockedin for 5 years. Guaranteed at every renewal.
We're a sister company to Think Energy, and we think connection is the strongest form of energy. At Energywell, we offer you guaranteed savings and provide you with power even when the grid can't.

This isn't available to the general public. You're getting access because you're a Think Energy customer—and because we already know your home and energy profile, your enrollment will be faster and simpler than it would be for anyone else. You just need to confirm a few details and then we can schedule your installation.

Energywell saves you 15% against ComEd's Price to Compare during on-peak hours, and 20% during off-peak hours (11pm–5am). Your rate is locked for five years, and you are protected by our Lowest rate Guarantee when it comes time to renew. You start below ComEd PTC, and our guarantee keeps you there.
If the grid goes down, your battery automatically kicks in and begins powering your home. For most outages, the transition happens so quickly you won't even notice an interruption.
No installation fees. No equipment costs. Our certified local technicians handle everything as part of your participation in the program—you only pay for the energy you use.
Your home joins a distributed energy network designed to support grid stability and reduce costs across participating homes. You benefit from preferred rates because your battery helps the whole network work smarter.

At each renewal, your Energywell rate is guaranteed to beat ComEd's Price to Compare. And if you find a lower comparable rate from another licensed Illinois retail provider, let us know—we'll match it, beat it, or let you cancel your Battery Services Agreement without any fees or penalties.
Electricity isn’t just a bill. It’s your lights during dinner, your wi-fi while you work, or your air conditioning in the summer heat.
While outages are becoming more common, you can rest easy knowing your Energywell system has your back (up).

You might be wondering
Once your installation is complete, your new contracts will activate and your Think Energy contract is automatically cancelled with no termination fees. Seamless transition.
Yes, you need to own your home to enroll with Energywell. There are a few other qualifiers as well—your home cannot have an existing battery backup, a solar installation, and will need to be qualified for installation by our technicians after you submit your Virtual Site Survey.
What is Energywell’s Lowest Rate Guarantee? The total term of your Energywell Battery Program is 15 years, but your initial electricity rate agreement renews after five years. At initial sign-up and at each renewal, you’ll have access to our Lowest Rate Guarantee. If you find a lower comparable rate at time of renewal and Energywell cannot match or beat it at time of renewal, you can cancel without any fees or penalties, and we’ll come remove the battery system at no cost! The lowest comparable rates must be the same length, same rate type, fixed (not variable), not promotional, and listed publicly on the Power to Choose Website at the time of renewal.
There are no equipment or installation fees with Energywell, and you just need to pay a $99 fully refundable deposit to get started. You only pay for the energy you use at the fixed rate, and a monthly base charge of $19. A comparable battery system would retail for approximately USD$18,000.
Your deposit is there to help us cover the costs associated with your Virtual Site Survey (VSS), plan sets, and permits. You’ll pay this one-time, fully refundable deposit of $99 at enrollment, which will be refunded after you pay your first bill, or if you change your mind before permits are submitted.
Your battery kicks in automatically in case of an outage—you won’t even notice the disruption. Your battery will cover most short-term outages, but how long it lasts will depend on the level of charge at the time of the outage and your energy usage during an outage. You can extend the duration of your battery during an outage by changing the set point on your thermostat, not using high-demand appliances like washers and dryers, and other efficiency tips.
After you complete your VSS, you can usually expect to hear from us in 24-48 hours. We’ll contact you to schedule a convenient installation date, and once our technicians are there it often only takes a few hours.
By joining Energywell, your home becomes part of a network of homes working together to use energy more efficiently, which means optimized costs and improved reliability for everyone. You might have also heard this called a Virtual Power Plant, or VPP.
If you have questions, reach out to our sales team to talk through things. They can help you decide if your home is a good fit, help you finish your VSS, or help you understand how joining Energywell can contribute to grid resilience.
