What is the Lowest Rate Guarantee?  ‍

‍The total term of your Energywell Battery Program is 15 years, but your initial electricity rate agreement renews after five years. At initial sign-up and at each renewal, you’ll have access to our Lowest Rate Guarantee. If you find a lower comparable rate at time of renewal and Energywell cannot match or beat it at time of renewal, you can cancel without any fees or penalties, and we’ll come remove the battery system at no cost!

What is the “Lowest Comparable Rate”?

‍Lowest Comparable Rates are:  
• The same term length  
• The same rate type (ie fixed)  
• No variable rate plans 
• No promotional or teaser rates 
• Listed publicly on the Power to Choose website at the time of renewal  


Your rate is not guaranteed to be the lowest available for the duration of the contract. While we cannot guarantee that it will always be the lowest comparable rate for the term of your contract, it will always be based on the lowest comparable rate at point of renewal.

How much does this cost?

There are no equipment or installation fees. You only pay for the energy you use at your Energywell rate.

Do I need to own my home?

Yes. You'll need to own your home to participate. Your home will also need to pass a quick Virtual Site Survey to confirm it's a good fit for installation.

Will putting a battery in my home make my energy usage go up?

No. We bill from the battery's own data, not your smart meter's full reading. Any electricity the battery draws to operate is on us—it never appears on your bill. Your bill reflects only what your home actually used.

What is the Lowest Rate Guarantee?

Your electricity rate agreement renews after five years. At each renewal, your new Energywell rate is guaranteed to beat ComEd's Price to Compare. If you find a lower comparable rate from another licensed Illinois retail provider, let us know. We'll match it, beat it, or let you cancel your Battery Services Agreement without any fees or penalties.

What if I want to keep my battery but switch electricity providers later?

If you decide to move your electricity supply to another provider, you don't have to give up your battery. You can keep the system installed, keep your backup protection, and keep active management for a flat $99/month Battery Services Fee. You can switch back to Energywell at any time.

How long does installation take?

Illinois installation timelines are longer than other markets due to permitting and interconnection requirements. We'll keep you informed at every step—and your Think Energy service stays active the entire time.
